GF30.30-P-3301LEC Radar Sensors Control Unit, Component Description

GF30.30-P-3301LEC Radar Sensors Control Unit, Component Description
- with CODE (239) Autonomous intelligent cruise control Plus Light
- refinement package
- as of model year 2010

Component Identification:

Location
The radar sensors control unit is located at the bottom right side of the luggage compartment.

Task
The tasks of the radar sensors control unit include controlling the following functions:
^ Variable Speed Limiter
^ Permanent Speed Limiter
^ Plus Light intelligent cruise control
^ Distance warning system
^ BAS PLUS (Brake Assist System PLUS)

The radar sensors control unit is the evaluation unit for the radar. For this purpose the DTR control unit (A89) (radar) is interlinked with the radar sensors control unit via the vehicle dynamics CAN (CAN H).

The radar sensors control unit also receives information (such as own vehicle speed and driver acceleration requests) from other control over the chassis CAN (CAN E) and dynamics CAN.

After evaluating all sensor data and input signals, the radar sensors control unit takes full control of the vehicle longitudinal movements, by sending accelerate, decelerate, brake or gearshift signals via the chassis CAN.
The radar sensors control unit also actuates warning tones and indicators on the instrument cluster (A1).

Input and output signals
The following input signals and output signals are evaluated and sent by the radar sensors control unit.
^ Direct input signals
^ Direct output signals
^ CAN input signals from the chassis CAN
^ CAN output signals to the chassis CAN
^ CAN input signals from the dynamics CAN
^ CAN output signals to the dynamics CAN

Direct input signals
- Circuit 30
- Tml. 31

Direct output signals
- None

CAN input signals from the chassis CAN
- Status of the accelerator pedal
- Drive position status
- Parking brake status
- Status of steering angle
- Driver request via CC [TPM] push button (S40/4)
- Driver request via menu settings in instrument cluster (A1)

CAN output signals to the chassis CAN
- Switching request
- Torque request
- Request from DTR warning lamp (A1e59)
- Request from electronic speedometer (A1p8)
- Request from multifunction display (A1p13)
- Request from acoustic warnings

CAN input signals from the dynamics CAN

Design
Due to the high performance of the radar sensors control unit, it is equipped with two controllers (clock frequency 40 MHz each).
