The Bluetooth antenna is located at the side behind the center console panel.

Reception of signals
- Receiving mobile phone signals or data via air interface from the Bluetooth module (A34/7) (comfort telephony), with code (386) Mobile phone or with code (389) Mobile phone preinstallation with universal interface, USA/Canada
- Receiving mobile phone signals or data via air interface and the mobile phone antenna from the mobile phone's integrated Bluetooth interface (basic telephony), except code (386) Mobile phone, except code (389) Mobile phone preinstallation with universal interface, USA/Canada
- Receiving mobile phone signals or data via a direct line from the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3)

To ensure that a Bluetooth-capable and COMAND controller unit authorized mobile phone can be used in the vehicle, the mobile phone must support the hands-free profile (HFP) 1.0 and 1.5. More information is available under:

A Bluetooth-capable mobile phone can only be operated in vehicles with code (498) Japan version if there is no mobile phone connected to the cell phone separation point (X39/37) and the adapter cable. Here too the mobile phone must be authorized by the COMAND controller unit and must support the hands-free profile (HFP) 1.0 and 1.5. More information is available under:

Converting signals
The Bluetooth antenna converts the mobile phone signals and mobile phone data to electrical signals and vice versa.
