The center instrument panel PTS warning indicator is located in the instrument panel.

The rear PTS warning indicator is located in the center of the rear compartment.

Task
The PTS warning indicators are actuated by the PTS control unit (N62).
- Obstacle detection The distances to the obstacle are initially signaled visually to the driver by illumination of the yellow display elements, then by illumination of the red display elements and also by an acoustic warning issued by the sound generator integrated in the warning indicators.
- Standby
The standby status means that the Parktronic system (PTS) is active but it is unable to detect an obstacle. Here the two yellow, horizontal standby bars in the warning indicators light up with reduced brightness.
- Self-test
Following a successful self-test, all display elements in the warning indicators are fully actuated for t = 1 s.
- System disturbance If a system disturbance occurs during operation, this is indicated by illumination of the red display elements in each affected warning indicator. A warning sound is not emitted.
- Fault
If a system fault or a fault during a function test is detected while driving, the red display elements of the affected warning indicators are actuated. A warning tone is also emitted for t = 2 s.

Design
Each PTS warning indicator is fitted with 14 yellow and 4 red display elements plus a sound generator.
