Component Identification:

Location
The coolant circulation pump is located at the right front of the engine compartment.

Task
The heater circulation pump is used for support when the engine is running or, when the residual heat mode is switched on (without code (494) USA version), it pumps coolant through the heater heat exchanger.

The automatic heater control and operating unit (N18) (without code (580) Automatic air conditioning and without code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning), the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit (N22) (with code (580) Automatic air conditioning) or the comfort AAC [KLA] control and operating unit (N22/7) (with code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning) transmits the switch-on request via the interior CAN to the driver SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1). This actuates the heater circulation pump accordingly.
