The PTS control unit is located to the left in the trunk behind the left paneling on a control unit carrier.

The PTS control unit is located in the trunk behind the left paneling (on vehicles with code (810) Sound system, behind the amplifier for sound system).

Task
The PTS control unit undertakes the actuation and evaluation of the PTS sensor unit, front bumper (A42) and PTS sensor unit, rear bumper (A43). If an obstruction is detected, a warning is given via the center dashboard PTS warning indicator (A44/4) or the rear PTS warning indicator (A44/3). The PTS control unit also actuates the dimming of the warning elements of the PTS warning indicators.

The PTS control unit is connected with the Controller Area Network Bus Class B (interior) (CAN-B) for the purpose of data exchange.
