The residual engine heat utilization feature makes it possible to continue to heat or simply ventilate the vehicle with c. 15 Off or c. 15C. The system makes use of the residual heat of the engine for this purpose. The coolant circulation pump (M13) pumps the still warm coolant out of the engine and through the heater heat exchanger. The blower motor (A32m1) delivers air into the interior through the heater heat exchanger. The blower motor is actuated using a preset fixed value.

Actuation of the coolant circulation pump is done by the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit (N22) (without code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning) or from the comfort AAC [KLA] control and operating unit (N22/7) (with code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning).

The air distribution flaps are in automatic mode.
