^ Exterior lamp switch is additionally pulled as far as the 2nd detent position into "Rear fog lamp" position.

Function
The driver-side SAM control unit detects the "Rear fog lamps On" signal via the exterior lamp switch and passes this signal on via CAN-B to the rear SAM control unit. The rear SAM control unit then actuates the rear fog lamps on inside and outside in the left taillamp (E3) and in the right taillamp (E4).

The yellow rear fog lamp indicator lamp in the exterior lamp switch visually indicates that the inside and outside rear fog lamps are switched on.
