^ Voice control, function

The mobile phone used must support the hands-free profile (HFP) 1.0 or 1.5. The mobile phones that meet these requirements are listed at http://www.mercedes-benz.com/connect
The system is described using a mobile phone connected to the adapter cable electrical connector as an example. Deviations from this are indicated with the symbol
The mobile phone system also has the following functions:
^ Address book
^ "Seamless switch"
^ "Private mode"
^ Toggling

Address book
The telephone entries that are stored in the COMAND controller unit (A40/3) are managed in the address book.
The entries in the telephone book of the mobile phone can also be loaded into the address book (external data) for a mobile phone that is connected to the adapter cable electrical connector, making them permanently available, even if the mobile phone is no longer in the vehicle.
Data can also be transferred from other external devices (e.g. laptop) into the address book via the Bluetooth(R) interface of the mobile phone and the Bluetooth antenna (A2/91). These are then permanently available as an entry. The address-relevant applications for telephony can be started directly via the entries and provided with the data stored.
External entries can be individually deleted "Business Card(s)" can also be transferred from a PCMCIA card to the address book via the Personal Computer Memory Card International Association (PCMCIA) slot in the COMAND controller unit.
Call up address book:
- Press "TEL" function key on the COMAND controller unit or - Select "Tel" menu in the application bar
- Select "Address book" submenu in function bar
If the "Address book" submenu was selected before the COMAND controller unit was switched off, this is called up immediately when the "TEL" menu is selected in the application bar.
Address book navigation takes place via the Audio/COMAND control panel (A40/9).
Entries in the address book can contain the following information:
- Names (surname and first name)
- Postal addresses (private or business)
- Telephone numbers (private, business, fixed-line network, mobile or car)
- 2 e-mail addresses
- A "URL" (Uniform Resource Locator) address
- Geo position
- Company name
- Notes
- "URL"
150 entries are provided with voice commands (voice tags) for voice control of the address book. "Seamless switch" "Seamless Switch" is the name for the changeover from handsfree mode to "Private Mode" and vice-versa. The changeover takes place automatically as soon as the mobile phone is disconnected from or connected to the adapter cable electrical connector. The telephone call is not interrupted.

"Private mode"
In "Private Mode", telephone calls can be made without voice output over the speakers installed in the vehicle. Handsfree mode, which is activated by default, is deactivated. "Private Mode" is activated if the mobile phone is disconnected from the mobile phone adapter cable during the telephone call and therefore disconnecting it from the communications control unit.
The phone call is retained on the mobile phone and can be continued on this.
A mobile phone that is not connected to the adapter cable electrical connector must support "Private Mode".

Toggling
The user can switch back and forth between telephone calls with 2 people. While the user talks to one person on the line, the connection to the other is put on hold. Voice transmission is interrupted.
