Operating instructions
The left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110) and right multifunction steering wheel button group (S111) can be used to display various menu items in the left multifunction display (A1p13) and in the right multifunction display (A1p15):
- It is possible to scroll within a system via the scroll forward/back button (S110s1).
- It is possible to switch to a different system via the system selection button (S110s3).
- The desired value in the multifunction display can be selected using the + and - button for setting specific functions and volume control (S111s1).
All the buttons of the multifunction steering wheel button group are always fitted. The activation of the corresponding functions however depends on the special equipment fitted.

Standard display menu
The following displays can be selected on the Standard display menu:
- Digital speedometer or outside temperature
- Service indicator
- Tire pressure loss warner (with code (470) Tire pressure monitor (standard)) or
- Tire pressure monitor (with code (475) Tire pressure monitor (Premium))
Audio menu
The Audio menu can be used to operate the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3):
- Radio channel
- Audio drive or data storage device
- DVD video
Navigation menu
Navigation instructions are shown in the Navigation menu when the function is switched on. When the function is switched off the direction of travel is shown with cardinal points (e.g. "NW direction of travel").
Distronic menu
The current Distronic settings can be read off in the Distronic menu.
Message memory menu
The stored fault messages are shown in the Message memory menu.
Settings menu
Changes to the following settings can be made in the Settings menu:
- Reset (return to manufacturer default setting)
- Instrument cluster (A1) (e.g. menu tree language)
- Illumination (e.g. ambient illumination, headlamp switch-off delay)
- Vehicle (e.g. automatic door locking)
- Comfort (e.g. access aid)
Trip menu
The following functions can be selected in the Trip menu:
- Consumption statistics
- Range
Telephone menu
The name of the selected mobile telephone network is shown in the telephone menu when the function is switched on. It is still possible then to scroll through the stored telephone book and select an entry.
Pressing the instrument illumination and reset button brightness control (A1r1) for t > 3 s and pressing it again within t = 10 s resets the individual settings to the manufacturer default settings.
