GF27.19-P-1201ACK Steering wheel gear shifter component description
- Transmission 722.695

Component Identification:

Location
The steering wheel gear shifter MINUS is located on the left and steering wheel gear shifter PLUS (S111/1) is located on the right on the back of the multifunction steering wheel.

Task
- Shifting into a gear from which the vehicle can be favorably accelerated or decelerated
- Direct shifting of all forward gears in manual transmission mode "M" (except code (494) USA version)

Function
The steering wheel gear shifters MINUS and PLUS are read in by the steering column tube module (N80) via the steering LIN (LIN E1). The steering column tube module places the "Downshift" or "Upshift" signals on the engine compartment CAN (CAN-C). The ETC [EGS] control unit (N15/3) receives the signal via the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) and triggers the gear change.

Shifts, which could result in impermissibly high or low engine speeds, are not performed.
