Update High Voltage Battery Software
This Service Campaign has been initiated because Daimler AG (DAG) has determined that fatigue of the high voltage fuse may occur due to excessive load To correct this condition, Dealers will update the high voltage battery software at the next workshop service
Prior to performing this Service Campaign:
^ Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously repaired.
^ Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as described.
Please note that Recall and Service Campaigns do not expire and may also be performed on a vehicle with a vehicle status indicator.
Approximately 1,858 vehicles are affected
Procedure
Note:
^ Use Xentry 09-10/11 with all associated patches or higher.
^ Follow the steps exactly as described in Xentry.
Be sure to perform the following steps in order to ensure a successful control module software update:
^ Connect battery charger (battery voltage >12.5V).
^ Turn OFF all of the vehicles electrical consumers.
1. Install battery management system control unit software (joint flashing: SG-BMS, SG-DDW and SG-EM): Control units/Body/SG-BMS battery management/Control unit adaptations/Control unit programming.
2. Create SG-BMS control unit log (this operation step is mandatory for the data transfer): Control units/Body/SG-BMS battery management/Control unit log and create control unit log.
Note:
Should the message "The actual value Remaining switching cycles of contactors is not OK" appear please follow the additional instructions in DAS/XENTRY.
3. SAM driver control unit - perform SCN coding: Control units/Body/SAM driver signal acquisition and actuation module (interior CAN bus)/Control unit adaptations/SCN coding.
4, Install SG-ME control unit software: Control units/Drive/ME-SFI 17.7 - Motor electronics 17.7/Control unit adaptations/Control unit programming.
Note:
When completed confirm control module software version:
^ Battery management system control module: 2219020703_001.
^ DC/DC converter control module: 0009027407_001
Note:
^ Please be aware that only the part number(s) referenced in the Campaign Bulletin is/are approved for use to repair the vehicle. Repairs performed using any other part(s) will not have been performed in accordance with the campaign. Accordingly, warranty claims submitted with reference to an improper part number(s) will be denied.
^ The following allowable labor operation should be used when submitting a warranty claim for this repair:
