Possible cause:

- B37 (Accelerator pedal sensor)
- M16/3 (Front throttle valve actuator)

Test 1.2: Check power supply of component B37 (Accelerator pedal sensor).

- Switch on ignition.
Status of the relevant actual values:
- Idle speed detection:Warning!

Test sequence

- Switch off ignition.
- Connect socket box (126-pin) to component N3/10 (ME-SFI [ME] control unit).
- Measure direct voltage with multimeter between sockets [F.10] 106 and [F.23] 119 of the 126-pole socket box tester.
- Measure direct voltage with multimeter between sockets [F.11] 107 and [F.23] 119 of the 126-pole socket box tester.
- Switch on ignition.
Specified value

- Voltage[4.75...5.25] V

Test 2.3: Check internal resistance of component M16/3m1 (Actuator motor).

Test 2.4: Test voltage supply of the potentiometers of component M16/3 (Front throttle valve actuator).

2.1. Check component M16/3 (Front throttle valve actuator) using actual value.
Test prerequisite

- Switch ignition on and wait at least for 60 s.
- Engine not running
Status of the relevant actual values:
- M16/3 (Front throttle valve actuator) : Voltage 1:Warning! Communication with ECU required.
- M16/3 (Front throttle valve actuator) : Voltage 2:Warning! Communication with ECU required.

- Disconnect coupling M at component N3/10 (ME-SFI [ME] control unit).
- Measure resistance with multimeter between sockets (M.75) 75 and (M.74) 74 of the 126-pole socket box tester.
Specified value

- Resistor[1...10]ohms
