Reason for change

Complaint:
Squeaking noises from the front axle when braking

Cause:
Incorrect positioning of the semicircular cutout in the pad backing plate

Remedy:
Check installation position of brake pads as per P-B-42.10-121 (see reference).

When installing the brake pads, observe the following:

^ The brake pads on the outside of the brake calipers must be installed with the semicircular cutout at the bottom.

^ The brake pads on the inside of the brake calipers must be installed with the semicircular cutout at the top.

If brake pads are found to have been installed incorrectly, proceed as follows:

^ Install new brake pads

^ Mark installation position of old parts and make photographic records

^ Create a TIPS case with the photos of the brake pads and send it to the relevant national organization for processing
