Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair

REMOVAL and INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

2. Loosen the tube clamps at both ends of the air cleaner outlet tube.

3. Carefully remove the air cleaner outlet tube. A gentle twisting motion will release the tube from its mounting surfaces on the throttle body and on the mass airflow sensor.

4. Disconnect the mass air flow sensor electrical connector.

5. Disconnect the intake air temperature sensor electrical connector.

6. Remove the oil separator hose from the bottom of the filter housing.

7. Remove the two bolts and one retainer nut.

8. Remove the engine air cleaner from the front fender apron.

9. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Be sure that the engine air cleaner is positioned correctly on the top of the air cleaner intake tube.
