Ignition Control Module: Service and Repair
Ignition Module Assembly:
Ignition Module Mounting:
REMOVAL:
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the two ignition control module bracket nuts.
3. Carefully pull the Ignition Control Module (ICM) bracket and ICM straight up.
4. Disconnect the ICM electrical connector by pushing in on the connector ends, while grasping the connector body and pulling away from the ICM.
INSTALLATION:
1. Position the ICM on the ICM bracket.
2. Install the two ICM screws and tighten to 3-4 N.m (24-35 lb in).
3. Lock the connector to ensure sealing of the connector/ICM interface.
4. Connect the ICM electrical connector until the connector fingers are locked over the locking wedge of the ICM.
5. Position the ICM and the ICM bracket on the main fuse junction panel bracket.
6. Install the two ICM bracket nuts and tighten to: 8-11N.m (71-97 lb.in).
7. Connect the battery ground cable.
