SERVICE INFORMATION Beginning with 3/11/88 production, the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) of 1988 Precis vehicles has changed to identify the vehicle as a Precis instead of a Hyundai. The VIN can be found in three different places; 1) on top of the instrument panel 2) on the front cowl of the engine compartment and 3) on the driver's side door post (Figure 1).
A revised VIN Code Identification Card was sent to all dealers in April, 1988.
