PURPOSE
This bulletin contains a procedure to remove the windshield side molding of 1987 and 1988 Precis vehicles. This molding must be removed in order to remove the windshield. As reference to this bulletin, please write the TSB number at the bottom of page 600-16 in the 1987 Precis Service Manual and page 60-21 in the 1988 Precis Service Manual.

WINDSHIELD MOLDING REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Insert a piece of scrap sheet metal under the windshield molding as shown in Figure 1. This will protect the roof drip rail weatherstrip from being damaged by the screwdriver.

2. Pry up the top end of the windshield side molding by inserting a screwdriver between the molding and the sheet metal as shown in Figure 2.
CAUTION: Take care not to scratch the paint with the screwdriver. If the paint is scratched through to the metal, repaint before Installing the new molding.

3. Pull the molding off by hand (Figure 3).
NOTE: The molding will be damaged during removal and must be replaced with a new part.
