PURPOSE

Additional information has been added to the vehicle information code plate. The abbreviation "EXT" indicates exterior trim code whereas "INT" indicates the interior trim code. Below is an illustration of the information code plate highlighting the new areas.

Typically the vehicle information code plate is located at the rear of the engine compartment except:
3.0L Montero - under hood above right headlight. Van Wagon - under carpet on the front center of the engine cover.
