1. Disable airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable, then discharge refrigerant from system.
3. Disconnect suction and liquid lines. Plug openings to prevent contamination.
4. Remove evaporator retaining nut, then disconnect drain hose, Fig. 27.
5. Remove glove box and under frame.
6. Remove duct joint.
7. Remove evaporator attaching bolt, then the evaporator assembly.
8. Remove evaporator from case as shown, Fig. 28.
9. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Lubricate O-rings with suitable compressor oil prior to installation.
b. After installing duct joints, adjust clearance between evaporator and duct joint as shown, Fig. 29.
c. Rearm airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
