SERVICE MANUAL UPDATE

PURPOSE

A number of changes are needed to update the Automatic Transmission sections of various Sigma, Galant Sigma, and Eclipse service manuals. This bulletin contains instructions for making these changes.

As reference to this bulletin, please write this TSB number in the TSB Revision boxes on the affected pages.





SERVICE MANUALS AFFECTED

1988 Galant Sigma, Vol. 1, Page 21-148
An oil seal should be identified in the End Clutch illustrations. In addition, the lip seal is incorrectly labeled as a D-ring. See illustration, Page 2 of this bulletin.





1989 Sigma V6, Vol. 1, Page 21-147; 1990 Sigma V6, Vol. 1, Page 23-100
In the Rear Clutch illustration, a D-ring should be identified in the cross-section drawing.
See illustration, Page 3 of this bulletin.








1989 Sigma V6, Vol. 1, Pages 21-149 and 21-150
An oil seal should be identified in the cross section view on Page 21-149, and the D-ring callout should be corrected to read "lip seal". See illustration, Page 3 of this bulletin. On Page 21-150, the oil seal should be identified in illustration # 175063. See illustration on Page 4 of this bulletin.

In the illustration, "Seal Ring" should be changed to "Lip Seal", and an oil seal should be identified as illustrated on Page 4 of this bulletin.

On page 23-102, in the End Clutch exploded view illustration, the word "D-Ring" should be changed to "lip seal" as illustrated on Page 3 of this bulletin, and an oil seal should be identified as shown in the upper illustration. (The oil seal should be identified on the cross-section view).

On Page 23-103, the oil seal should be identified on illustration # 175063 as illustrated on
Page 5 of this bulletin.
