Cruise Control - ASC Light Flashes ON & OFF

91mitsubishi04

NO. TSB-91-13-005

DATE March, 1991

MODEL 3000GT

SUBJECT: CRUISE CONTROL DIAGNOSIS

PURPOSE

When the cruise control in an early production 3000GT operates as described below, the following repair procedure should be followed before taking further corrective action.

DESCRIPTION OF CONDITION

While depressing the main switch on the console to the ON position, the ASC light in the instrument cluster will light up, but then will go out when the main switch is released. This condition may be caused by a tight main switch wiring harness "pulling" on the main switch's electrical connector causing inadequate electrical contact inside the main switch.

AFFECTED VEHICLES

3000GT vehicles manufactured before September 6, 1990. Vehicles manufactured since September 6, 1990 have a longer wiring harness.
