Engine: Service and Repair
1. Release fuel system pressure.2. Remove cruise control pump and link assembly.
3. Mark and remove hood assembly.
4. On turbocharged models, remove air hose and air pipe assembly.
5. On all models, remove front exhaust pipe assembly.
6. Remove transaxle assembly as outlined under TRANSMISSION CLUTCHES DIFFERENTIALS AXLES AND DRIVE SHAFTS/AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE/COMPONENT REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR PROCEDURES/TRANSAXLE for automatic transaxles, TRANSMISSION CLUTCHES DIFFERENTIALS AXLES AND DRIVE SHAFTS/MANUAL TRANSAXLE/COMPONENT REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR PROCEDURES/TRANSAXLE, for manual transaxles.
7. Remove radiator assembly.

8. Remove engine assembly in numbered sequence shown in Fig. 8, noting the following:
a. Disconnect air conditioner compressor and power steering oil pump leaving hoses connected.
b. Using suitable engine lifting device, raise and support engine to remove weight off mounts then remove engine mount bracket as outlined under ENGINE & TRANSAXLE MOUNT.
c. Ensuring that cables, hoses and wire harness connectors are removed, raise engine assembly upward out of engine compartment.
9. Reverse numbered sequence shown in Fig. 8 to install engine, noting the following:
a. Ensure that all cables hoses and wire harness connectors are in correct position before completely installing engine.
b. Attach engine mounting bracket with arrow mark on stopper in in direction shown in Fig. 2.
