Description
There are two potential reasons the shifter may not engage the reverse gear:
First, the reverse gear lockout mechanism on the shift cable control lever assembly may be overly tight from an excessive amount of adhesive sealer on its securing bolt.
Second, the securing bolt used on the reverse gear lockout mechanism may be partially loose from not enough adhesive sealer.
To correct either of these conditions, it is necessary to install a new shift cable control lever assembly with new attaching bolts.
The remainder of this bulletin describes the installation of the new shift cable control lever assembly and explains parts and warranty information.
