Background Information

Under certain steering conditions combined with full suspension travel, either or both indicated front brake hoses can crack resulting in brake fluid leakage, reduction of braking efficiency, and illumination of the brake warning lamp. This condition can occur on all 1992-94 Monteros in the listed affected range, and on 1991-94 3000GT, 1992-94 Diamante, and 1993-95 Diamante Wagon vehicles equipped with ABS produced during the period indicated.

Both front brake hoses on all affected vehicles must be replaced. A paint mark must be applied to the indicated location on each new brake hose fitting to identify the vehicle as being repaired according to the instructions in this recall bulletin.
