A. ECM Adapter and Modulator Installation






1. Record the customer's preset radio stations. With the ignition key in the OFF position, disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.






2. Remove the driver's side lower crash pad.






3. Remove the control relay.






4. Remove the relay box.






5. Remove the ECM protector.
6. Remove the ECM.






7. Using the parts provided in the campaign repair kit, connect the modulator to the extension harness. You can connect the modulator to either of the connectors.






8. Connect the three red taped harness connectors to the ECM.






9. Attach the adapter and the modulator to the ECM with the tie straps provided in the campaign repair kit. Cut off excess tie strap material.
10. Reinstall the ECM, adapter, modulator and extension harness into the vehicle as assembled.
11. Connect the ECM control harness to the adapter. Be sure that the ECM ground wire is reinstalled in its original position.
12. Connect the extension harness connectors to the ECM.
13. Reinstall the relay box and control relay.






14. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
15. Start the engine. Verify proper engine operation.
16. Reinstall the driver's side lower crash pad.
17. Reset the customer's preset radio stations and clock.
18. Proceed to the Catalytic Converter Inspection section of this bulletin.
