Operational Characteristics of CD Changer
Before troubleshooting is attempted, it is important to fully understand the operational characteristics of the CD changer. Read the instruction book for CD changer, number A993RC1X01. In addition to these instructions, refer to the following information.1. When the CD changer is switched on, and whenever the magazine is loaded, the unit performs a loading operation for approximately 10 seconds.
2. Load the discs label DOWN (reflective side UP) into the CD magazine. Insert the magazine with its arrow UP.
3. Up to six discs can be loaded into the magazine, however, only one disc is required to operate the CD changer. The single disc can be inserted in any of the magazine's six slots.
4. Two fuses are used by the CD changer. One (3 Amp) is located on the rear of the CD changer. The other (10 Amp) is located in the fuse block under the left side of the dashboard.
The 10 Amp fuse is in the upper right corner of the fuse block. It is labeled "Room" on the 3000GT and "Room/Clock" on the Diamante.
5. Before installing a CD changer, remove the transportation pin and screws from the top of the unit. Cover the pin and screw holes with the self-adhesive seals, and retain the pin and screws in case future shipment of the CD changer is necessary.
6. If a disc skips during play, or if the magazine does not eject, make sure the horizontal/vertical adjustment is correct on both sides of the CD changer.
For the Diamante, the 4 screws should be in the vertical holes with the 4 pins pointed at the vertical marks.
For the 3000GT, the screws should be in the horizontal holes with the pins pointed at the horizontal marks.
