Procedures

When replacing the brake hoses, refer to Section 35 in the appropriate service manual for the vehicle being serviced.

1. Raise the vehicle.

2. Disconnect the brake hose from the front brake tube.

NOTE: Do not drain the brake fluid.

3. Plug the brake line to prevent leakage and loss of brake fluid.












4. Remove the indicated brake hoses and replace with the new style hoses listed in the Parts Information section of this bulletin.

5. Torque the hose fittings to 15 Nm (11 ft.lbs.)

6. Fill the brake system to replace any fluid that may have leaked out during the hose changing procedures and bleed the brakes according to the instructions in section 35 of the service manual.

7. After bleeding the brakes, top off the brake master cylinder and check the brake system for any leaks.






8. Mark the top metal hose fitting on each newly installed hose with yellow paint to indicate that the hose has been replaced according to the instructions in this safety recall bulletin.

9. Test the brakes for proper performance before delivering the vehicle back to the customer.
