DATE: October, 1993

MODEL: 1991 - 1993 3000GT

SUBJECT:
3000GT DOOR GLASS ADJUSTMENT

PURPOSE

This bulletin provides door glass adjustment procedures for 3000GT vehicles. These procedures do not require removal of the door glass.

DOOR GLASS ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE

1. As shown in the service manual, remove the affected door's interior panel and door trim waterproof film. Do not damage the waterproof film.

Note:
Removing the window switch from the interior panel and reconnecting it will assist in the adjustment procedure.

2. Loosen the fasteners for the following items:
Glass guide front track
Glass guide rear track
Door window regulator
Front inner stabilizer
Rear inner stabilizer
Up-stop

3. Raise the window glass to the uppermost position.

CAUTION:
This sets the door glass to its maximum "UP" position. The door glass will probably strike the weatherstrip holder/moulding if the door is closed, possibly causing door glass or moulding damage.

4. Using a hex key wrench, adjust the front inner stabilizer against the glass guide slider of the window glass. Tighten the jam nut.

5. Push the up-stop against the glass stop (downward) and tighten its bolt.

6. Press the rear inner stabilizer against the window glass and tighten.

7. While slowly closing the door, check to see if the door glass strikes the moulding. If the door glass strikes the door weatherstrip holder/moulding, lower the door glass and move the up-stop down. Recheck the door closing.

8. Once you are sure that the door will close wfthout damage, close the door. Make certain the specified dimension is maintained between the window glass edge (5.5 mm +/- 1 mm) and the delta sash lip end (1.0 mm +/- 0.5 mm). If the dimension is incorrect, readjust the up-stop.

9. Open the door 20 mm (+/- 5 mm). The door glass should touch the rubber weatherstrip as indicated.

10. If the glass does not touch, adjust the front and rear track adjusting bolts to make the adjustment.

11. Tighten the front and rear track adjusting bolts jam nuts.

12. Reinstall the waterproof film and interior door panel.
