Fuel Gauge: Testing and Inspection

1. Disconnect electrical connector from fuel gauge unit in fuel tank.

2. Ground harness side connector through a 12 volt 3.4 watt test lamp, Fig. 7.
3. Turn ignition switch to On position.
4. Test light should light and gauge needle should move.
5. If test light lights and needle does not move, replace fuel gauge.
6. If light does not light and needle does not move, check for a blown fuse or a broken wire.
