23. Sound Quality Is Poor, or Sound Is Weak
DIAGNOSISSTEP 1. Does the player work normally if the tape is changed?
NOTE: Check that the tape label is not loose, that the tape case is not deformed and that the tape is tightly wound. Also, tapes with a length of C-120 or greater can often get caught in the mechanism and should not be used
If yes, the tape used is defective.
If no, go to Step 2.
STEP 2. Does the player play OK if the tape player head is cleaned?
If yes, the sound quality should return to normal.
If no, go to Step 3.
STEP 3. Is proper operation obtained when the tape player is replaced?
If yes, repair or replace the tape player. The sound quality should return to normal.
If no, repair or replace the speakers. The sound quality should return to normal.
