3. When Clutch is Depressed, Auto-Cruise Won't Cancel, M/T

Clutch Pedal Position Switch Circuit:

Connector C-89:

CIRCUIT OPERATION
This circuit indicates the operation status of the clutch pedal position switch. When the clutch pedal position switch is ON (clutch pedal is depressed), the voltage of auto-cruise control-ECU terminal number 13 will indicate 0 volt.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION (COMMENT)
The cause is probably the malfunction of the clutch pedal position switch circuit.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
- Malfunction of the clutch pedal position switch.
- Damaged connector and harness.
- Malfunction of the auto-cruise control-ECU.

DIAGNOSIS

STEP 1. Check the clutch pedal position switch.
1. Disconnect clutch pedal position switch connector C-01.

2. Measure the continuity between the terminals.
If the continuity does not meet the specification above, replace the switch. Then check that the malfunction is eliminated.

If the clutch pedal position switch is in good condition, go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check the circuit at clutch pedal position switch connector C-01
1. Disconnect connector C-01 and measure at the harness side.
2. Measure the voltage between harness connector terminal 2 and ground.
- Voltage should be 4.5 volts or more. If circuit check made at connector C-01 meets specifications, go to Step 3.

If circuit check made at connector C-01 does not meet specifications, go to Step 4.

STEP 3. Check harness connector C-01 at the clutch pedal position switch for damage.
If harness connector C-01 is damaged, repair or replace it. Refer to Harness Connector Inspection. Then check that the malfunction is eliminated.

If the harness connector is in good condition, go to Step 6.

STEP 4. Check harness connectors C-01 at the clutch pedal position switch and C-20 at the auto-cruise control-ECU for damage.
If harness connectors C-01 and C-20 are damaged, repair or replace them. Refer to Harness Connector Inspection. Then check that the malfunction is eliminated. If the harness connectors are in good condition, go to Step 5.

STEP 5. Check the harness between clutch pedal position switch connector C-01 and auto-cruise control-ECU connector C-20.
If any harness wires between clutch pedal position switch connector C-01 and auto-cruise control-ECU connector C-20 are damaged, repair them. Refer to Harness Connector Inspection. Then check that the malfunction is eliminated.

If the harness and its connectors are in good condition, replace the auto-cruise control-ECU. Then check that the malfunction is eliminated.

NOTE: After checking intermediate connector C-89, inspect the harness. If the intermediate connector is damaged, repair or replace it. Refer to Harness Connector Inspection. Then check that the malfunction is eliminated.

STEP 6. Check the harness wire between clutch pedal position switch connector C-01 and the ground wire.
If any harness wire between clutch pedal position switch connector C-01 and ground wire is damaged, repair it. Refer to Harness Connector Inspection. Then check that the malfunction is eliminated
