2. Right Headlight Does Not Light Up, Bulb Is OK
CIRCUIT OPERATION
The low-beam side headlight relay supplies current to the right headlight through dedicated fuse number 11, and the high-beam side headlight relay supplies current to the right headlight through dedicated fuse number 6.
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION (COMMENT)
If only the right headlight does not light up, there may be a fault in the harness or connector from the dedicated fuse to the right headlight.
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
- Damaged harness wires or connectors
- Fuse blown
DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tool
MB991223: Harness Set
STEP 1. Check the headlight (RH) power source
1. Remove the headlight connector (RH) A-32.
2. Measure at the harness side of headlight (RH) connector A-32.
3. With headlights on high beams, measure voltage between terminal 1 of A-32 and ground.
4. With headlights on low beam, measure voltage between terminal 3 and the ground.
- The voltage should be approximately 12 volts (battery positive voltage).
If approximately 12 volts, go to Step 2.
If not approximately 12 volts, go to Step 3.
STEP 2. Check the harness wires between headlight (RH) connector A-32 and the body ground.
If the harness wires between headlight (RH) connector A-32 and the body ground are damaged, repair them. Check that the malfunction is eliminated.
STEP 3. Check connector A-32 at the headlight (RH) for damage.
If connector A-32 is damaged, repair or replace it.
If connector A-32 is in good condition, go to Step 4.
STEP 4. Check the harness wires between headlight (RH) connector A-32 and dedicated fuse number 6 and number 11.
If the harness wires between headlight (RH) connector A-32 and dedicated fuse number 6 and 11 are damaged, repair them. Go to Step 5.
NOTE: After inspecting intermediate connector C-05, inspect the wire. If intermediate connector C-05 is damaged, repair or replace it Refer to Harness Connector Inspection.
Step 5. Check symptoms.
Confirm that the headlight (RH) is illuminated.
