Fuel - Slow Fill/Premature Fuel Nozzle Shut-Off

SLOW FUEL FILL AND/OR PREMATURE FUEL NOZZLE SHUT-OFF
PURPOSE
On some affected vehicles, when filling the tank with fuel, the fuel nozzle may shut off prematurely and/or the fuel may fill slowly. This condition is typically due to an improper air gap inside the fuel filler liquid separator. Follow the instructions in this bulletin if a customer complains of this condition.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
2001-2002 Galant models produced before 7/11/01
PROCEDURE
If a customer complains of slow fuel fill and/or premature fuel nozzle shut off when filling the fuel tank:
1. Inspect for kinks or restrictions inside the vapor hose shown (between the tank and the fuel filler neck). Correct as needed.
2. Replace the fuel filler neck assembly.
