SERVICE INFORMATION

The headlamp configuration of 1987 Stanza (T12) vehicles is slightly different from other Nissan vehicles. When a Hopkins model B4A (Hoppy) mechanical aimer is used, the special procedure described below must be followed to correctly aim Stanza headlamps. Please note that no change in adjustment procedure is required if optical aimers, such as Bear or Weaver are used.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

NOTE: Use this procedure in conjunction with the manufacturer's instruction manual.

1. Install the aerodynamic adapter kit on the aimer.

2. Set the adjustment rods to the specified horizontal and vertical settings.

3. Position the suction cup on the headlamp face, and push the locking mechanism towards the headlamp until the suction cup is flat against the headlamp face.
4. Use one hand to push the suction cup upward so that most of the cup is positioned on the upper flat section of the headlamp face (Figure 1).

NOTE: Failure to follow steps 3 and 4 correctly will result in a vacuum leak in the suction cup causing the aimer to fall off the headlamp.

5. Pull the locking mechanism toward you to lock in the aimer (Figure 2).
6. Proceed to check/adjust the headlamp as required.
