Input Shaft and Gears

DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY

^ Disassembling and assembling procedures are the same as those for models without input shaft braking mechanism, except as follows.



Installation of 5th & Reverse synchronizer assembly:

a. Place 5th baulk ring on 5th input gear.

b. Install reverse synchronizer cone on reverse baulk ring.



c. Place reverse synchronizer assembly on 5th input gear.
^ Mesh recesses of 5th input gear with projections of reverse synchronizer cone.



d. Hook insert springs on reverse baulk ring.
NOTE: be sure insert springs are positioned between 5th gear baulk ring teeth sets.



e. Install coupling sleeve onto 5th input gear/reverse assembly.

f. Install synchronizer hub onto 5th input gear/reverse assembly.



g. Press on 5th synchronizer assembly with 5th input gear.
NOTE: be sure notches are fully aligned before pressing.
