SERVICE INFORMATION

Some 1987 Stanza Sedan models may exhibit front brake squeal when brakes are applied with light-to-medium pedal force. This noise is most noticeable when the brakes are warm-to-hot, and disappears when more pedal force is applied.

Customers who complain about this noise should be assured that it is not an indication of a brake problem and will not cause any loss of brake performance. The factory realizes this noise is annoying to many customers and is developing a countermeasure front brake pad.

Until this countermeasure brake pad is fully tested and in production, the recommended field fix is to install the latest Maxima front brake pads. Maxima front pads (with no slit in the pad material) are physically interchangeable with Stanza Sedan brake pads.
