If Stanza and Maxima vehicles, produced before the applied date, exhibit symptoms of starting in D4 or delayed downshifting after stopping, a new valve body separator plate is available which eliminates this incident. In addition to the installation of this separator plate, 1 shuttle ball must be removed from the valve body (Figure 1).
After installing the countermeasure separator plate and removing the shuttle ball, test drive the vehicle to verify that the incident has been resolved. If the incident is not resolved, call the FIXS Hotline (800-662-3497).
