Roof Panel Around Sun Roof and Sunroof Glass Weatherstrip

Roof Panel Around Sun Roof

SYMPTOM:
Creaking noise develops, while driving, from the roof panel around the sun roof.

REPAIR INFORMATION:





Tools Required:
Screwdriver (flat-blade)
Method:
1. Remove the sun roof glass from the vehicle.
2. Insert a screwdriver between the roof panel and body reinforcement; twist the screwdriver a little at both sides of the sun roof.
NOTE:
Be careful not to damage the roof panel.
3. Install the sun roof glass.

Sun Roof Glass Weatherstrip

SYMPTOM:
While the sun roof is opening or closing, a squeaking noise develops between the sun roof glass weatherstrip and the roof panel.

REPAIR INFORMATION:
Tools Required:
3M Squeak Reduction Tape, P/N 5430, or equivalent.

Method:
1. Open the sun roof fully.





2. Apply 3M Squeak Reduction Tape, P/N 5430 or equivalent, to the contact surface between the roof panel and sun roof glass weatherstrip - as illustrated.
