On some vehicles before the Applied VIN and Production Date, a knocking noise may sometimes be heard when the steering wheel is turned in one direction and, then, the other. (Figure 1)





As of the Applied VIN/Production Date, a countermeasure steering shaft was integrated into production. To optimize contact between the steering shaft and the tube, a serrated section has been added to the shaft (Figure 2).
