Air Induction Valve Control System (AIV)

AIV Control System:

CIRCUIT OPERATION
When the ECU senses the proper conditions suitable for A.I.V operation, via the engine temperature sensor, idle switch, crank angle sensor and vehicle speed sensor, it supplies the ground circuit to the A.I.V solenoid allowing the system to operate. Refer to EMISSION CONTROLS for further description of the A.I.V valve.

Vacuum Solenoid:

AIR INDUCTION VALVE SOLENOID
The ECU supplies the ground circuit to the A.I.V solenoid, energizing it. This redirects vacuum from the source port and vent port to the source port and valve port, applying vacuum to the A.I.V.
