ALTIMA (U13) THROTTLE CABLE INSPECTION AND REPAIR PROCEDURE

This is an amended version of the Recall Bulletin which presents new "Customer Service Features" and additional Warranty Information.

INTRODUCTION:




At extremely low temperatures, engine movement may pull the throttle cable out of the guide mounted on the rear wall of the engine compartment on some 1993-94 Altimas, within the Applied range of V.I.N.s (Figure 1). If the end of the cable housing remains out of position, this may prevent the throttle from returning to the idle position. The driver may experience abnormal engine idle speed or, while driving, the vehicle may not slow at a normal rate when the gas pedal is released. This could result in loss of vehicle control and a subsequent crash.
