SERVICE INFORMATION

Some 1993 Altimas may have aluminum alloy wheel center caps with excessive chrome flashing at the outside edge of the caps. The excess flashing may make it difficult or impossible to install the center caps onto the wheel. This may result in damage to the aluminum wheel clear coat and eventually lead to corrosion.

Countermeasure center caps are now available as service parts. These new caps are wrapped with a single-piece aluminum sheet to provide a smooth contact surface between the wheel and cap. This will protect the wheel's clear coat and improve the color match between the aluminum wheel and center cap. Refer to the part number information below when ordering countermeasure caps.

Note:
These center caps must be indexed so that the half-round protrusion on the back of the cap is centered on a lug bolt opening.
