Parking Brake System: Adjustments
1. Prior to adjustment, check the following:
a. On models with rear disc brakes, ensure toggle lever returns to stopper when parking brake lever is released, Fig. 9.
b. Ensure there is no drag when parking brake lever is released.
2. Release parking brake lever and loosen adjusting nut.
3. Start engine and depress brake pedal fully at least 10 times with engine running.
4. Pull parking brake control lever 4-5 notches, then adjust control lever by turning adjusting nut, Fig. 10.
5. Pull control lever using approximately 44 lbs. of force, parking brake should be engaged when lever stroke is 7-8 notches.
6. Bend parking brake warning lamp switch plate so that brake warning lamp comes on when parking brake lever is pulled one notch or less.
