The service department will also add power steering fluid to the vehicle if required.

DEALER RESPONSIBILITY
It is a dealer responsibility to check (with SERVICE-COMM) each vehicle falling within the range of this service campaign which for any reason enters the service department. This includes vehicles purchased from your dealership, other Nissan dealerships, private parties, or vehicles presented by transient (tourist) owners and vehicles in dealer inventory.
A campaign status report (sent under separate cover) will assist you in the identification of those vehicles involved in this service campaign. Each dealership service department is encouraged to contact these vehicle owners to have the required inspections and repairs completed on their vehicle.
CUSTOMER FOCUS
Maintaining a strong customer relationship throughout the Power Steering Hose Clamp Campaign is one of the key goals of NMC. Each and every action taken by Nissan and the servicing dealer will have a significant impact in retaining current Maxima owners as future customers.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface.
2. Turn the ignition OFF.
3. Set the parking brake.
4. Open the hood.
5. Locate the power steering low pressure fluid return hose clamp indicated in Figure 1.
6. Check the tightness of the clamp. The gap between the tightening bolt head and the draw bar must be between 0.039" and 0.119" (1-3 mm) as shown in Figure 2.
A. If there is no leak and the clamp is to specification, no further steps are necessary.
B. If a leak is found and/or the clamp is out of specification, adjust the clamp to bring the gap between the tightening bolt head and draw bar into specification. Use a penny to measure the gap (see Figure 2).
7. If a leak was observed, wipe the area clean and check the power steering fluid level. Adjust fluid level as necessary.
