SERVICE INFORMATION

If an applied vehicle exhibits a whine noise when the vehicle is driven between 60 and 70 MPH, in third and fourth gear, the cause may be the automatic transaxle output gears. If the whine noise occurs in fourth gear only, this bulletin does not apply. New idler gears are now available to reduce the whine noise level.

Use the following service procedure to repair the vehicle.

NOTE:
Due to the nature of this repair, it is recommended that a technician with proper training perform this service procedure.
