IF YOU CONFIRM:
The lid for the center console cup holder will not stay closed,
ACTION:
Check the latch to see if is broken (see step 1 in the Service Procedure):
^ If the latch is broken, replace it with the one listed in the Parts Information.
^ If the latch is not broken, this bulletin does not apply.

CLAIMS INFORMATION
Submit a Primary Failed Part (PP) line claim using the claims coding shown.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Check to see if the latch is broken (see Figures 2 and 3).
a. Hold the cup holder lid halfway open.
b. Look at the latch. It should have two little "fingers" facing you.
^ If the latch is broken, continue with the Service Procedure and replace it with the one listed in the parts information.
^ If the latch is not broken, this bulletin does not apply. Go back to ASIST for further diagnostic and repair information.
2. Remove the broken latch.
CAUTION:
Be Careful. Don't scratch any surfaces while removing and installing the new latch.
a. Cover the cup holder lid with a clean cloth to keep it from being scratched.
b. Use needle nose pliers to grab the top middle part of the latch.
c. Unsnap the latch and put it out by giving a quick tug with the pliers.
3. Install the new latch.
a. Place the new latch in position. Refer to Figure 6.
^ The lower edge of the latch fits into the track. The two hooks (one on each end) fit into the slots.
b. With the latch in position, use your fingers to push (snap) the hooks into the slots.
4. Make sure the latch is snapped in correctly by moving it back and forth.
^ It should move freely and smoothly about 1/2 inch back and forth.
5. Open and close the cup holder lid several times to make sure that it works properly.
