Heater Core: Service and Repair

HEATER & COOLING UNIT (HEATER CORE)




Removal
1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to "DRAINING ENGINE COOLANT" (QG18DE), or "DRAINING ENGINE COOLANT" (QR25DE).
2. Discharge the A/C system. Refer to "Discharging Refrigerant".
3. Disconnect the two heater hoses from inside the engine compartment.
4. Remove the instrument panel assembly and steering member assembly. Refer to "INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY".
5. Remove blower unit. Refer to "Removal".
6. Remove the heater and cooling unit.
7. Remove the heater core.

Installation
Install in the reverse order of removal.

When filling radiator with coolant, refer to "DRAINING ENGINE COOLANT" (QG18DE), or "DRAINING ENGINE COOLANT" (QR25DE).
Recharge the A/C system. Refer to "Evacuating System and Charging Refrigerant".
