Service Procedure
CAUTION:Use suitable covers to protect upholstery, carpet, trim, etc. when performing this procedure.
Replace the Bluetooth(R) Control Unit as follows:
1. Write down all radio station presets.
2. Re-position the drivers seat as follows:
a. Move the seat rearward so you can reach the Front Mounting Bolts.
b. Remove the Front Mounting Bolt Finishers (see Figure 1).
Pull FORWARD to release the finishers. They should slide off.
c. Remove the Front Mounting Bolts (see Figure 1).
d. Move the seat forward to get to the Rear Mounting Bolts.
e. Remove the Rear Mounting Bolt Finishers (see Figure 2).
^ Pull REARWARD to release and slide the finishers off.
f. Remove the Rear Mounting Bolts (see Figure 2).
g. Re-position the seat (tilt it back) to reach the Bluetooth(R) Control Unit (see Figure 3).
WARNING:
Do not disconnect or stretch the wire harnesses under the drivers seat.
3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
4. Remove the Bluetooth(R) Control Unit as follows:
a. Disconnect the Bluetooth(R) Control Unit Wire Harness Connector (see Figure 4).
b. Remove the Bluetooth(R) Control Unit Finisher (see Figure 5).
^ Release the Plastic Clips at the front edge of the Finisher and lift the Finisher up (see Figure 5).
c. Remove three Screws and remove the Bluetooth(R) Control Unit (with Front/Rear Mounting Brackets attached) from the vehicle (see Figure 6).
d. Remove four Screws and remove the Front and Rear Mounting Brackets from the Bluetooth(R) Control Unit (see Figure 7).
5. Install the original Front/Rear Mounting Brackets onto the new Bluetooth(R) Control Unit using the original Screws (refer to Figure 7).
6. Install the new Bluetooth(R) Control Unit (with original Mounting Brackets/Screws) in the vehicle, making sure:
^ The Wire Harness Connector is securely connected ("snapped" in place).
^ The Finisher is correctly re-installed.
7. Re-connect the negative battery cable.
8. Re-install the Driver's Seat, making sure:
^ The Seat Wire Harnesses are properly routed and still connected.
^ The four Seat Mounting Bolts are tightened to: 44 - 54 Nm (4.4- 5.6 kg-m, 32-40 ft-lb)
^ The Front and Rear Seat Mounting Bolt Finishers are correctly re-installed.
9. Re-program the radio presets.
