2008 Altima Coupe (CL32) with QR25 engine

IF YOU CONFIRM

When the engine is started after a "cold soak" of more than 4 hours:

^ There is a rattle for 1-2 seconds (if the rattle noise lasts longer than 2 seconds this bulletin does not apply,

and

^ The rattle noise is not coming from the catalytic converter heat shield (see campaign bulletin NTB08-001),

and

^ The rattle is coming from the IVT (Intake Valve Timing) sprocket / camshaft intake sprocket at the front of the engine,

and

^ The engine oil level is confirmed to be in the "operating" range.

Refer to the Repair Flow Chart above to determine the correct actions for the vehicle you are working on.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Connect C-III to the vehicle to begin the ECM reprogramming procedure.

^ If you are not familiar with the ECM reprogramming procedure, refer to "CONSULT- III (C-III) ECM Reprogramming" general procedure.





CAUTION





2. When you get to the ECM Reprogramming screen shown in Figure 1 (example), do the following:

A. If there is a part number listed in the Part Number column, write it on the Repair Order.

B. Refer to the Repair Flow Chart to determine the correct actions for the vehicle you are working on.
