Body - The Fuel Lid/Hood Will Not Open

2007-2008 VERSA; THE FUEL LID AND/OR HOOD WILL NOT OPEN

APPLIED VEHICLES: 2007-2008 Versa (C11X Hatchback and SC11X Sedan)

IF YOU CONFIRM

You are unable to open the fuel lid and/or hood because the cable detaches from the cable bracket.

ACTIONS





^ Remove the instrument side finisher and instrument lower finisher. Refer to section IP for removal and installation procedures.

^ Put the cables back in place.

^ Use plastic tie straps to hold the fuel lid release cable and the hood release cable in place.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

NOTE:
The plastic tie straps are considered a shop supply.





1. Wrap a tie strap around the cable and metal bracket to hold the fuel lid cable in place. See Figure 2.

2. Wrap a tie strap around the cable and both plastic and metal brackets to hold the hood cable in place. See Figure 2.

^ Make sure to wrap the tie strap around and behind the bracket.





3. Release the fuel lid lever and hood lever to make sure the issue has been resolved.
